Natural Stone Wholesale Price
Don't Choose a Supplier Based Only on the Lowest Price
When comparing several natural stone wholesale price lists, the lowest unit price does not necessarily represent the lowest overall purchasing cost.
Two suppliers may quote the same stone at different prices because they are offering different specifications.

Compare the Same Specifications
Before comparing prices, make sure both quotations use the same:
Stone type
Color range
Grade
Thickness
Size
Finish
Quantity
Packaging standard
Delivery terms
For example, a 20 mm stone and a 10 mm stone should not be compared simply because both are listed as “natural stone.”
Check Quality and Selection
Natural stone is a natural material, so color variation, texture, veins and surface characteristics are normal.
A lower-priced commercial-grade material may contain more variation than a carefully selected premium-grade material.
Therefore, buyers should request:
Product photographs
Samples
Quality specifications
Production photos
Actual batch information when possible
Check Hidden Costs
A wholesale stone quotation should clarify whether the price includes:
Export packaging
Pallets or crates
Loading
Inland transportation
Ocean freight
Insurance
Taxes or duties
Local delivery
The Natural Stone Institute also recommends confirming dimensions, stone type, grade, freight terms, schedule, quote validity and special requirements when requesting a stone quotation.
Focus on Total Landed Cost
For an importer, a better calculation is:
Product Cost + Packaging + Freight + Import Costs + Local Delivery = Total Landed Cost
This gives a much more realistic comparison than looking only at the factory unit price.
